A market is the platform that allows buying and selling of goods
and services to take place. The question however is, who makes the goods
and services to be sold available in the market? These goods do not

Some of the services include storage of the goods since they own large warehouses and they also break the bulk of the goods they buy in economies of scale.
Remember that they receive the goods from the producers in economies of scale. They also break the bulk of those goods by packaging them in smaller containers. Another advantage they have is that they link the producers to the retailers and necessary information can be passed to enable quality production.
Some goods do not last for long. Considering the chain of distribution which is a bit slow, the goods may get spoil while they are in transit. Therefore most producers take caution early enough by distributing those goods directly to the final users using the fastest means. The means used for such is airplanes especially to transport flowers.
Wholesalers normally obtain the goods in bulk from these producers. They then store those goods in their depots until when required. However they can do more than that for example breaking bulk of the goods and can also transport the goods to the retailers.
The problem however is that the longer the chain of stainless steel distributor and distribution the more the cost which will be a burden to the final user. Nevertheless, this activity is of more good than harm. This is not to forget that the economy also grows through the commercial activities that take place. We should therefore salute to the intermediaries who make everything possible.
